What makes me laugh as a military wife

   I am truly wondering why I can't after seventeen years get which is bigger Battalion or Brigade? Why does it matter? Why does my husband get so frustrated with me when I screw this up for the hundredth time? Will I get this before we retire? Am I lacking the ability to be the stereotypical army wife?

Wait, I am the stereotypical army wife. We are inundated with so much information when our husbands integrate us into this military lifestyle that some of it becomes mashed potatoes in our head. So I forget the order of things sometimes at least I am not calling them air wings, ships or troops. My husband sees it another way. It is almost like a slap in the face for him. It is like I don't care about his work. You see if the military didn't have 5000 acronyms then I think us wives would have an easier time with the simple things like brigade and battalion. Oh wait and rules; they have so many and some for us too, that we get lost just trying to shop at the commissary. I feel for the new military wife. They have to integrate themselves since young soldiers are brought into a unit and shipped out usually within the first year, leaving their young wives to figure out all that the military has to offer. Those young ones usually don't put their wives in contact with us old birds; which could show them the ropes and make life on post allot easier because of the allusive Sgt. that told him the FRG is just a bunch of gossiping women that will pick your wife apart like pigeons with a loaf of bread.  I hope the best for them because if I am still having problems with words and order, I bet just getting their car registered on post will be a nightmare.

I know why am I writing this please take light to my tales as we go along on our journey as a military wife we all have great stories that make it a little easier. I loved Erma Bombeck  and her stories about her family and that is what I want to do with this blog is make it a little easier and take a funny look at our life.
